Riftbound Vendetta is Set 4, launching July 31 2026. If you have heard the name and want to know exactly what is coming and when you can buy it, this is the page. What Is Vendetta?
Vendetta is the fourth set of Riftbound, releasing globally on July 31 2026. It follows Unleashed (Set 3), which launched May 8 2026. Vendetta brings 160+ cards, 9 Legends, 50+ Showcase cards, and three brand new domain pair combinations that open up deck archetypes that were not possible in any previous set. The headline product is the Zed vs Shen Showdown Deck, a two-player box that lets you play straight out of the wrapper. Confirmed Vendetta Champions
All nine Vendetta Legends are now confirmed with official playstyle descriptors from Riot’s July 20 Pre-Rift article. Zed and Shen ship as the Showdown Deck pair. The remaining seven each have individual Champion Decks at $19.99. Note: Riven, Shattered is a champion unit and the Pre-Rift promo card only. She is not one of the nine Legends and cannot be included in Sealed decks.

Additional Vendetta cards confirmed July 17: Gangplank, Naval (Pirate tag, Empower ability, Overnumber variant confirmed) and Illaoi, Prophet of the Kraken (Bilgewater tag, generates a Bilgewater token, Overnumber Rival variant confirmed). With all nine Legends now confirmed, Gangplank and Illaoi are champion units rather than Legends. Both Overnumber versions have print errata: official rules text supersedes what is printed on the card.
What Is New in Vendetta
New Domain Pairs
The biggest structural change in Vendetta is three completely new domain combinations that have never appeared in Riftbound before. Every set has introduced new domain pairs, and Vendetta continues that pattern:
- Fury/Calm (Red/Green)
- Mind/Body (Blue/Orange)
- Chaos/Order (Purple/Yellow)
Each new pair opens up card designs that could not exist in previous sets. Champions built on Fury/Calm, for example, can use both Red and Green cards, a combination that no Unleashed champion could run. New Mechanics in Vendetta
Vendetta introduces four new mechanics, all confirmed in the official Vendetta Overview published July 7 2026.
Flow
Flow is a keyword on spells. Pay the Flow cost to play the spell from your trash instead of your hand. The card is then banished, removed from the game permanently, so each Flow spell can only be used this way once. Flow cards have a special trash symbol in their text box. This symbol will appear on future sets too, so it is worth learning to recognise it.
Burn
Burn takes X cards from the top of your Main Deck and puts them into your trash. Cards can trigger when they are burned, which enables Flow synergies: Burn fills your trash, and Flow lets you play cards from your trash. The two mechanics are designed to work together.
Empower
Pay the Empower cost to put a card into its Empowered state. The card remains Empowered indefinitely until it leaves the board or is Disempowered. Cards with Empower often have a separate Empowered ability that activates while in that state. The pattern in play: play the card on one turn, pay to activate Empowered on a subsequent turn, and unlock stronger abilities for the rest of the time it is on the board. Akali and Gangplank are confirmed Empower users in Vendetta.
New Card Types in Vendetta
Unit-Gear
A Unit-Gear counts as both a unit and a gear simultaneously. This is a new card type not present in previous Riftbound sets.
Decrees
Decrees are a thematic spell cycle. Each Domain has a Decree card that is particularly effective against its opposite domain colour. Six Decrees are confirmed, one per Domain.
Collecting Vendetta
Vendetta has the largest Overnumber run of any Riftbound set so far. Twenty-two rival diptych pairs are confirmed, each featuring two rival champions facing each other across two overnumbered cards. The pairs are designed to be displayed side by side.
Crystal Rose Wild Rift Collaboration
Vendetta includes six Crystal Rose alternate art cards using Wild Rift skinline artwork, credited to the Wild Rift Splash Team. These cards are numbered as SP (Special) rather than as Overnumbers. Riot reserves the Overnumber designation for original Riftbound artwork and uses SP for art from other Riot properties.
SP cards appear in the alternate art slot in booster packs at the same pull rate as standard showcase cards. They are not harder to pull than a regular alternate art card.

SP cards rotate with their original set, not with Vendetta.Kai’Sa, Survivor (VEN-SP001/006) is an Origins card with a Vendetta SP treatment, so it rotates with Origins when Origins leaves the Standard format.
Vendetta Bans: Effective July 24 2026
Three bans take effect July 24 2026, the same day Vendetta Pre-Rift begins. These are all Standard format unless noted.
Banned Card: Stealthy Pursuer (Origins)
Vendetta introduces two new cards, Eye of the Herald and Renata Glasc, Industrialist, that combine with Stealthy Pursuer to create a 3-card infinite Recruit combo as early as turn 3. Riot banned Stealthy Pursuer before Vendetta launches rather than waiting for the combo to appear in competitive play.
Banned Battlefields
Two battlefields are banned from Standard:
- The Arena’s Greatest gives the first player too strong an advantage once turn order is known in sideboard games.
- Aspirant’s Climb increases round length and tournament time, making it an auto-include in sideboard games in a way that distorts event schedules.
2v2 Constructed Ban
Master Yi, Wuju Bladesman is banned in 2v2 Constructed only. He is not banned in Standard 1v1.

Pre-Rift Kit

Each kit contains 5 Vendetta Booster Packs, 1 seeded Champion pack (containing 1 Legend, 1 Rare Champion, 1 Battlefield, and support cards), plus Riven, Shattered as a promo card. The kit is randomised across all nine Legends, so you do not know which Legend pack you will receive. The promo Riven cannot be used in the Sealed deck built from the kit. This product is primarily aimed at players attending Pre-Rift events and tournament organisers. If you are not attending a Pre-Rift event, the Booster Display or Vault Bundle is the better purchase.

Rules Changes: Effective July 24 2026
The Vendetta Core Rules update introduces several changes to competitive play alongside the new mechanics.
Sideboard Size: 8 to 10 Cards
Sideboard size increases from 8 to 10 cards for all Vendetta-era competitive play. Riot designed specific Vendetta cards as powerful sideboard options, and the increased size gives players more flexibility in sideboard games.
Other Rules Additions
Skip is now an official action keyword. Best-of-5 rules have been added for top-cut events (the Regional Championship will likely be the first event to use this format). Token is now an intrinsic card category rather than a supertype. Signature card power costs must match the card’s domains.
How to Buy Vendetta Products
Riot is using a drawing system for the Vendetta launch, the same approach used for previous sets. You register during the window, and if selected you get the chance to purchase. Products do not go on open sale immediately.
Drawing Window: July 6-8
Registration opens July 6 and closes July 8 (48 hours only). Register at playriftbound.com. Missing this window means missing the drawing entirely.

Showdown Deck Decklists
Zed and Shen decklists will be published later in preview season, after July 18. The Showdown Deck guide will be updated with confirmed decklists once they are available.
What to Buy at Launch
Unleashed sold through fast on TCGPlayer at launch. Vendetta will almost certainly do the same. Here is the clearest guidance I can give based on confirmed products right now.
If you are completely new to Riftbound
The Zed vs Shen Showdown Deck is the right starting point. Two complete decks, one box, play the same night it arrives. You do not need to choose a champion first or figure out domains before buying. At approximately $34.99 you are getting two decks for the price you would normally pay for one Champion Deck. Start here.
If you already have Unleashed decks and want to expand
Vendetta’s three new domain pairs mean some champions will run domain combinations that do not overlap at all with Unleashed champions. Wait until preview season (from July 6) to see which champions share domains with your current deck before committing. If a Vendetta champion runs Fury/Calm and your Vi deck is Fury/Order, there will be some shared cards, which makes the upgrade cheaper.
If you collect sealed product
The Booster Display at $119.99 matches the Unleashed Display price exactly. With 160+ cards and 50+ Showcase cards confirmed, the set is a similar size to Unleashed. Pre-orders are live now on TCGPlayer. Do not wait on this one.
If you are on a tighter budget
One Showdown Deck gives you two complete, playable decks. That is the best value-per-game in the Vendetta lineup. Hold off on booster packs until singles prices settle two to three weeks post-launch, then buy the specific cards your deck needs rather than cracking packs. Pre-Rift Promo: Riven, Shattered
Riven, Shattered is the confirmed Pre-Rift promo card for Vendetta. She is distributed at Pre-Rift events at local game stores July 24-30. Riven is a champion unit in Vendetta, not one of the nine Legends, and the Pre-Rift events are the primary way to obtain her card before launch.
Riftbound at Gen Con 2026
Riftbound will have a presence at Gen Con Indianapolis (July 30 to August 2). A Vendetta Prerelease event is confirmed in the Gen Con event database alongside a Riftbound panel. Attendees can pick up the Ahri, Alluring promo card (ticket required). July 31 is simultaneously Vendetta release day and Day 2 of Gen Con, making it the highest-profile physical Vendetta launch event of the year.
